Can Morei, accessible apartments, is one of the projects selected by the World Tourism Organization in its publication Accessibility and Inclusive Tourism Development in Nature Areas (may 2021). The project was presented in space FITUR-NEXT (Madrid, 2021)
This publication addresses the relative lack of research carried out into the topic of accessibility in nature areas to date. Through multiple cases studies and examples of best practices drawn from UNWTO Affiliate Members and other organizations, it illustrates different ways of designing and implementing projects aimed at improving accessibility in nature and so enabling persons with disabilities to travel to these areas.
Although it is a building from the XVIII century with all the stone walls and 3 floors above the level of the pool, we have eliminated all barriers.
We have a lift for the pool. It is an elevator with hydraulic system, autonomous in that the user does not need external help.
We have adapted the entrance height of the Jacuzzi to 48cm and installed a booster seat with batteries.
They are spacious, the shower trays completely at ground level. Without shower enclosures that limit movement.
The handwash allow an approach without problems and the mirrors are followed to the suitable height.
The support bars are adjustable in height.
We have available a wheelchair for the use of the bathroom or if you prefer chair with handles on the shower bath.
The kitchens have a folding work tray that allows you to operate with comfort.
Also the taps have an accessible length.
All rooms are very spacious. The two sides of the bed are accessed comfortably.
All double beds 180x200 wide can be prepared separately with 2x90x200 if you wish.
The hangers are with handle.
All apartments with private terrace or balcony have direct access from the living room without barriers or obstacles.
Most of the windows are up to the ground level to favor the view, the light and the space.
The building has a central elevator that distributes access to all floors, the level of the pool and the level of the barbecue terrace.
Also direct access to the meeting room.
The main and direct entrance doors from the parking are free of barriers.
The multipurpose room of meetings and common uses, is equipped with magnetic loop.
